FIA Formula Two champion Luciano Bacheta has parted company with the Zele Racing Auto GP team.

Bacheta scored a win for the team in Marrakech but has otherwise struggled for results, his home round at Silverstone last weekend being marred by car problems.

Bacheta follows Narain Karthikeyan out of the door at Zele, the Indian having switched to Super Nova before Silverstone.

A statement on behalf of the team said that “Bacheta is preparing for entering the GP2 Series in 2014 and wants to review other open-wheel opportunities for the remainder of 2013. Therefore, both parties have agreed to dissolve the cooperation at the halfway point of the 2013 Auto GP season.”

Team boss Michael Zele added: “We would like to thank Luciano for the good job he made and wish him all the best for his future endeavours.”
