Race-winning FIA Formula 3 Championship rookie Ollie Bearman (17) and Indy Lights-bound Indy Pro 2000 champion Louis Foster (19) reach the final for the second year in a row, having missed out on victory to Williams junior Zak O’Sullivan in 2021, two-time W Series champion and current series leader Jamie Chadwick (24) repeats her 2019 AMABA appearance and GB3 points leader Luke Browning (20) participates in the Silverstone-based part of the contest for the first time.
Fitness and simulator elements will take place before the quartet head on track in MotorSport Vision Formula 2 cars, a United Autosports-run Ligier LMP3 prototype sportscar and one of Beechdean Motorsport’s Aston Martin Vantage GT3s.
The track tests run over two days, and are observed by select media, and the drivers will be judged by a group of famous motorsport names.
British Racing Drivers’ Club vice-president Derek Warwick once again chairs the judging planel, and is joined by Formula E racer Alexander Sims, long-time Aston Martin sportscar driver Darren Turner, IndyCar champion Dario Franchitti, touring car icon Jason Plato, racer Andrew Kirkaldy, race car designer Mark Williams, engineer Leena Gade, commentator Ian Titchmarsh and Autosport magazine’s chief editor Kevin Turner.
The winner of the award will recieve a prize Formula 1 test with Aston Martin, full BRDC membership for a year, an Arai helmet and a £200,000 cheque, and will be announced at the Autosport Awards on December 4.
