Fernando Alonso’s A14 Management company has added its fourth driver: Formula Regional European Championship racer Gabriel Bortoleto.
Two-time Formula 1 world champion Alonso launched his driver management firm this March with established driver manager Albert Resclosa and his own personal manager and friend Alberto Fernandez.
Signed straight away were Formula 2 rookie Clement Novalak, who had already been working with Resclosa, and Alpine Academy affiliate Nikola Tsolov who is dominating Spanish Formula 4 in his first year of car racing.
Peruvian karter Andres Cardenas joined A14’s ranks in June, and 17-year-old Bortoleto becomes the fourth of Alonso’s personal proteges having already driven for Alonso’s MP Motorsport-run FREC team last year.
“I’m very pleased to join the A14 Management team and proud to be part of a strong organisation consisting of Fernando Alonso, as well as the managerial expertise of Alberto and Albert,” said Bortoleto.
“I’m confident that together we can achieve big things and enjoy a successful journey. I can’t wait to get started.”
Bortoleto’s single-seater career started with Prema in Italian F4 two years ago, coming fifth in the points with one win. He then stepped up to FREC with FA Racing and picked up one podium on the way to 15th in the standings. The Brazilian also won a race in a part-time campaign in Stock Light, the support series to Stock Car Brasil.
For 2022 he moved teams to R-ace GP and continued in FRegional, contesting two Asian championship rounds and claiming a victory, then embarking on a sophomore FREC campaign in which he is currently sixth in the standings with one victory.
A14 says he will step up to the FIA Formula 3 Championship next year, and he may also cameo in Stock Car Brasil.
