Formula Regional-experienced racer and Dubai 24 Hours class winner Oliver Goethe has completed Motopark’s Euroformula line-up for 2022.
The Dane joins his recent FRegional Asian Championship rival Frederick Lubin and Formula 4 graduate Alex Garcia at the team, which via its main squad and Japanese offshoot CryptoTower Racing Team has dominated Euroformula since 2019.
Goethe, 17, tested with Motopark at Estoril at the end of last year and began this one by racing in the United Arab Emirates. He came 25th in FRAC with 3Y Technology by R-ace GP, and won the Dubai 24H’s GT4 class on his GT racing debut.
“I am really excited to join Motopark,” said Goethe, who along with older brother Benjamin has had his career looked after by Bullet Sports Management.
“The team has an impressive track record, and I’ve enjoyed working with them during the pre-season testing. I can’t wait to get the season started.”
Goethe has spent the past two years racing for MP Motorsport, firstly in Spanish F4 where he picked up one win as a series sophomore in 2020 and then in FRegional European Championship where two top-10 finishes left him 23rd in the 2021 points.
“I am very pleased to welcome Ollie to the team,” Motopark’s team principal Timo Rumpfkeil said.
“During the winter 2021 tests Ollie immediately started on a very high level and progressed well from there. He works very focused and fits the team very well. I am confident that we will achieve strong results together.”
CrpytoTower’s line-up currently consists of Christian Mansell and Vlad Lomko, although the latter’s ability to race in Europe this year may come under threat if sporting sanctions are applied to his home nation of Russia following its military invasion of Ukraine.
