Bruno del Pino and Gael Julien will race for the Drivex School team in Spanish Formula 4 this season.
Spanish youngster del Pino joins the team from senior karting, having been a factory Tony Kart driver on OK karts last year. He came ninth in WSK’s Open Cup, 29th in its Euro Series and 44th in the Super Master Series.
In November he also drove for Drivex in a Spanish F4 test at Barcelona and was fastest of anyone.
“I’m very happy to face this year as a rookie in Formula 4,” said del Pino of joining Drivex for his car racing debut in 2022.
“I’m looking forward to gaining experience in single-seaters. Now I have to work with the team to set up the Tatuus F4-021 and fight for great results this year.”
Franco-Indonesian racer Julien is switching F4 series, having raced in the French championship last season. He came sixth in the FIA standings, with one overall win and a pole at Ledenon.
“I am really happy to drive for Drivex in the 2022 Spanish F4,” Julien said. “After a season in the French F4 this is the natural step for me and I believe together we can achieve great things.
“Thanks to everyone involved for making it happen, especially Miguel Angel de Castro as well as my sponsors and my family for the support. I can’t wait to start testing and kick off the season.”
The pair are the second and third signings by Drivex, joining second-year racer Max Arkhangelskiy in its F4 line-up.
