ADAC Formula 4 is the latest junior single-seater series to have its calendar disrupted by the spread of COVID-19.
The entry-level series, entering its sixth season in its current guise, has decided to reschedule its races at Oschersleben from April 24-26 back to October 23-25. What was intended to be the season opening round will now act as the season finale.
Pre-season tests scheduled for early April at the circuit, where crack Euroformula and Super Formula Lights team Motopark is located, have also been cancelled.
Racing is therefore due to get underway now at former Formula 1 track Nurburgring on May 21-24, and fans who purchases tickets for the Oschersleben round will still be able to use their ticket at the Nurburgring or any of the remaining rounds.
Championship organiser ADAC has also confirmed it will make a decision soon on if a rescheduling is required for its visit to the Red Bull Ring in Autria on June 5-7.
The ADAC F4 grid already consists of a 15-car grid, with a four-car entry from Prema and three-car entries from Mucke Motorsport, R-ace GP and Van Amersfoort Racing already confirmed. However, some of those drivers, who will be contesting dual campaigns in Italian F4, are already set to skip some of the ADAC F4 races.
Other F4 series that have already been impacted by the global COVID-19 pandemic include the American and French championships, while British F4 is still currently still set to go ahead with its season opener at Donington Park next weekend.
