United States Formula 4 frontrunner Christian Brooks has switched paths to USF2000 with Exclusive Autosport.
The 19-year-old debuted in single-seaters last year with F4 team Jay Howard Driver Development and picked up two wins on the way to the third in the standings. He came just 11 points short of the runner-up spot.
Rather than move up to Formula 3 Americas as champion Joshua Car has, Brooks has moved across to IndyCar support series USF2000.
?I am extremely excited to get the 2020 USF2000 season underway under the Exclusive Autosport tent,? said Brooks.
“I can?t wait to showcase what the team and I can accomplish this season. They have an amazing foundation with top-tier engineers, mechanics, and pristine race cars. Let?s see what 2020 has in store.?
Before his successful switch to single-seaters, Brooks was a champion karter and title runner-up in both the Americas and Global Rallycross championships.
Exclusive Autosport team principal Michael Duncalfe said: ?I am thrilled to welcome Christian Brooks to the Exclusive Autosport team. Christian brings tremendous experience and results to the program.
“His racing style will be very well suited to the EA cars. I am really looking forward to what is in store for him this year and kicking off the 2020 USF2000 season with the official series test at Homestead.?
Another addition to the USF2000 grid is Ayrton Ori, who remains with the Legacy Autosport team he joined at the end of last year. The 15-year-old F1600 graduate entered four USF2000 races in 2019 and managed a best finish of 16th.
