Alex Connor claimed a double pole position for the 2019 British Formula 4 season finale at Brands Hatch, as Zane Maloney outqualified title rival Sebastian Alvarez.
Rookie Connor topped the times early in the session and continued to put in quick lap after quick lap to lower the benchmark to 1m40.641s around the Grand Prix layout.
Connor,?who was too young to contest the April races on the Brands Hatch Indy circuit, also topped the second fastest lap times to put himself on pole for the final race of the season.
Louis Foster was the quickest of the championship contenders, putting himself on the front row of a grid with a time 0.128s slower than Connor.
Joint championship leader Zane Maloney could only manage third quickest, ahead of Luke Browning and title rival Sebastian Alvarez.
Tommy Foster and Josh Skelton took sixth and seventh, with Bart Horsten, Carter Williams, and Mariano Martinez completing the top 10.
The only change between the race one and race three grids will put Browning ahead of Maloney on the second row, meaning Maloney and Alvarez will be just one place apart on the grid for what is likely to be the deciding race.
