Carmen Jorda will continue in the GP3 Series in 2013 after signing for Bamboo Engineering, with Robert La Rocca leaving the British team.
Venezeulan La Rocca tested for Bamboo, who have taken over the Atech entry for the coming season, at the first test at Estoril last month, during which he was confirmed as the squad?s first driver for its maiden season.
He has now left the team however, with Bamboo citing ?uncertainty about his sponsors amid the changing situation in Venezuela? following the death of president Hugo Chavez last week. La Rocca has re-signed with Team West-Tec for the coming F3 Open season.
Jorda contested the 2012 GP3 season with the now-defunct Ocean Racing Technology team but only managed a best result of 13th.
?I?m really pleased to have concluded the deal with Bamboo Engineering,? said the 24-year-old Spaniard. ?I had a positive winter of testing and am looking forward to a good year. Seeing the team go fastest at the end of the Estoril GP3 Series test really helped my decision making.?
Jorda joined Ryan Cullen and Lewis Williamson at Bamboo for the first day of the second test at Barcelona on Tuesday, although Williamson?s place will be taken by Melville McKee for Wednesday.
