After the opening race of F3 Open Winter Series two weeks ago, the championship already comes to an end this weekend. In Jerez, seven teams will participate with 23 drivers.
At Paul Ricard, Team West-Tec started the year in the best shape with Nelson Mason winning the qualification and the race, and Ed Jones dominating the practice sessions. They will both be back for the second round alongside Luca Orlandi. In the Copa class, with Dallara F308 cars, West-Tec reduces its lineup to two cars (Sean Walkinshaw and Liam Venter) with Cameron Twynham absent, despite being the third best Copa class driver last time.
Emilio de Villota Motorsport has an impressive lineup with six cars. Beside Hector Hurst, Andres Saravia and Alexey Chuklin, an Israeli driver, Yarin Stern will take part in the event. Igor Urien and Che One Lim will join the team with F308 cars.
Sandy Stuvik and Santiago Urrutia both remain with last years champion, RP Motorsport, however, GP3 driver Vicky Piria replaces Alexandre Cougnaud. The Venezuelan Alex Cicconetti is another addition to the team, he will race in the Copa classification.
The fourth team, racing with Dallara F312 cars, is Campos Racing. Nothing changes in their lineup, with Denis Nagulin, Valeria Carballo and Artur Janosz all still part of the team.
There are three other squads with F308 cars in the series. Richard Gonda will drive for Drivex, Lorenzo Paggi and Damiano Fioravanti for Corbetta, Nicholas Pohler, and Gerardo Nieto, the Mexican newcomer, for DAV Racing. Copa racewinner Matteo Davenia will miss the round.
