Akash Nandy will continue racing in Formula Masters China (previously Formula Pilota China) in 2013, resuming his cooperation with KCMG.
The Malaysian 16-year-old youngster graduated from karting in 2011, joining Meritus in the JK Racing Asia Series. Contesting the full schedule, he finished the season in seventh, with three podiums.
For 2012, Nandy did not have a full-time drive, participating in select rounds of Formula Pilota China (with KCMG) and JK Racing Asia (with Meritus). He impressed in the latter, scoring two podiums in the opening round of the championship at Sepang, and scored points in the former.
In the beginning of 2013, Nandy took part in Toyota Racing Series over in New Zealand with ETEC Motorsport, finishing 14th overall with a best result of sixth.
Last year, KCMG fielded Dan Wells over the entire FPC season, as well as giving a car to Nandy and Yuta Shiraishi at select rounds. With three wins and six further podium finishes, Wells finished second in the championship, losing out to Antonio Giovinazzi.
