Mattia Colnaghi and Ruiqi Liu have been announced as joining the 2024 Macau Grand Prix grid, meaning it is now complete.
This year’s race will run for Formula Regional cars for the first time, and the FIA World Cup for the category will be awarded to the grand prix winner.
The two new additions complete MP Motorsport and PHM Racing’s three-car line-ups respectively.
Colnaghi is just 16 years old and a car racing rookie. The Italian did two Formula Winter Series rounds with MP at the start of this year, then joined them in Spanish Formula 4 where he will conclude his season at Barcelona this weekend.
He is currently second in the standings and fighting for the title, with four victories, six other podiums and six poles.
Liu is 18, and spent 2023 in F4 before stepping up to FRegional for his second year in single-seater racing.
The Chinese driver came fourth in FWinter Series with three podiums, 14th in Euro 4, 30th in Italian F4, and fourth in Chinese F4 by winning three of the eight races he contested.
He began 2024 with PHM in FRegional Middle East and came 26th in the standings. Switching to Trident for the European championship, where he was 22nd in the points table, and two more Chinese F4 outings put him 15th in the standings there.
The 2024 Macau GP takes place on November 15-17, with a grid of 27 drivers representing 11 different all teams and all using Autotecnica-powered Tatuus T-318 chassis.
