Leonardo Pulcini has rejoined Campos Racing ahead of his second season in the GP3 Series.

The 19-year-old from Rome won the Euroformula Open title with the team in 2016 before joining Arden for his move into GP3.

He finished second in his debut race at Barcelona, but failed to finish in the points again all season and ended up 14th in the standings.

Pulcini was on course for a podium in race one at the final round of the season in Abu Dhabi only to suffer a puncture.

He returned to Campos for the post-season test the following week, and also sampled Formula 2 machinery with the Spanish squad.

“I?m extremely proud and happy to be back with Campos Racing,” said Pulcini.

“They are a very important team for my career, because I learnt everything in racing with them. Besides, I already won with Campos. It?s my racing family for sure. I know they all are looking forward to helping me.

“We have put together everything and we approach a decisive season. I think we have a competitive package to be in win contention.

“We tested in Abu Dhabi and the car was rather competitive. Their working method is great and I feel confident. I?m ready to start the season in style.

Pulcini is the second driver confirmed with Campos for the coming GP3 season, alongside fresh Euroformula Open graduate Simo Laaksonen.

“We are happy to welcome Leo at Campos Racing once again,” said team boss Adrian Campos.

“Besides he is a very talented driver. We expect a lot from him and our goal is to repeat our previous success together.”
