Marta Garcia beat championship leader Jamie Chadwick to claim her first W Series pole at the Norisring.

The Spaniard, who finished on the podium at the Hockenheim season opener, set a time of 50.712s after a late red flag period to top the times by 0.081s from Chadwick.

Fabienne Wohlwend, polesitter at the previous round, ended the session third fastest, with Friday practice pacesetter Gosia Rdest in fourth and Beitske Visser – second in the championship – in fifth.

Jessica Hawkins, who showed strong pace in practice, was fastest before the red flag period but, despite lowering her best time further, finished in sixth ahead of Italian racer Vicky Piria.

Finland?s Emma Kimilainen, making her series return after missing the previous two rounds through injury, finished eighth fastest having set the pace during the first ten minutes of qualifying.

Japan?s Miki Koyama was ninth fastest with American Sabre Cook rounding out the top ten.

Double podium finisher Alice Powell, who hurt her wrist in a practice crash with Esmee Hawkey, will start from last place after bringing out the red flags when her car stopped on the circuit before having chance to set a competitive time.
