Ulysse De Pauw sets British F3 Donington test pace

Ulysse De Pauw set the pace in BRDC British Formula 3’s test on Donington Park’s Grand Prix layout, with the top four covered by 0.058 seconds.

The Douglas Motorsport driver was fastest in two of the Friday sessions, putting him 0.054s clear of Fortec Motorsports’ Johnathan Hoggard.

The championship frontrunner was just 0.003s faster than his team-mate Manuel Maldonado, who had just a thousandth of a second gap over de Pauw’s team-mate Kiern Jewiss, the pacesetter in the the first and fourth Friday sessions.

Chris Dittmann Racing’s Ayrton Simmons was fifth fastest, 0.180s off the front, and topped the wet second session on the Thursday.

Hampus Ericsson was sixth for Double R Racing, ahead of the closely matched Carlin trio of Benjamin Pedersen, Kaylen Frederick and Clement Novalak.

In 10th place, and just a third of a second behind de Pauw was the sole Hillspeed car of Sasakorn Chaimongkol.
