Ugo Ugochukwu topped free practice ahead of the final round of the FIA Formula 3 season at Monza.
Theophile Nael was on top of the timing screens when Roman Bilinski spun into the barriers at Ascari to bring out a red flag after 20 minutes of running.
There were 15 minutes left on the clock when the session restarted, and champion Rafael Camara went immediately quickest.
Noel Leon had a spin after running wide into the gravel at Lesmo 2 but managed to get going again after a tricky three-point turn.
Martinius Stenshorne took over the top spot with a time of 1m39.189s, before many drivers pitted to swap the carried-over medium tyres for the soft compound rubber that will be used for the rest of the weekend.
Nikola Tsolov was the first to make use of the quicker tyre to set a new benchmark with less than a minute of the session remaining, only to be instantly bettered by Callum Voisin.
Tsolov, one of the drivers fighting to secure second in the championship this weekend, improved on his final effort following the chequered flag. Prema driver Ugochukwu however went 0.128s faster, posting a 1m38.473s to finish fastest.
Leon recovered from his earlier spin to go third ahead of Voisin and Nael, with Matias Zagazeta rounding out the top 10.
Stenshorne did not improve on his earlier benchmark and ended up 15th, with Camara 18th.
Series debutant Fernando Barrichello replicated Leon’s Lesmo spin at the end and was 28th fastest.
