Thomas Bearman and Harri Reynolds will make their British Formula 4 debuts on Silverstone’s National layout this weekend.

Hitech GP has signed Bearman for the upcoming races and the season finale on Brands Hatch’s Grand Prix layout next month after the 15-year-old younger brother of Formula 1 and Formula 2 racer Ollie made his single-seater debut with the team in Euro 4’s trip to the Red Bull Ring last weekend. He finished his first ever car race in 20th place.

Bearman has primarily been racing in senior karting in 2024. He came 17th in Rotax Max’s Euro Trophy and 35th in its Winter Cup, and is currently 15th in the BNL Karting Series.

Reynolds [pictured] above is already a race-winner in F4. He did the first three rounds of the 2024 GB3 season with Elite Motorsport, winning at Silverstone and making the podium at Oulton Park before leaving the series. His results put him 12th in the standings. The year before he came fourth in entry-level sportscar series Ginetta Junior.

The 18-year-old is joining JHR Developments this weekend as a stand-in for Ella Lloyd, who has been picked as a wildcard driver for the clashing F1 Academy round on the support bill of the Singapore Grand Prix.

“We spoke with Ella and her family, as I raced with her in 2022. With the opportunity she has, racing in F1 Academy, it has opened a door for myself, and I am really happy to join JHR Developments in British F4,” explained Reynolds.

“The car is fairly similar to what I have experienced in GB4, so it will be about getting back into the rhythm of things and pushing on. I would love to be back in a single seater full time in 2025, but we’ll have to see how everything goes.”
