Matthieu Vaxiviere is to get a second year in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 with Tech 1 Racing, the French driver has revealed.
“This year I participate in World Series by Renault with the French team Tech 1 Racing in the new Formula Renault 2.0,” said Vaxiviere. “I’m so excited and motivated to start the season.”
The French junior started off his single-seater career with a bang, winning the 2011 season of the French F4 series. In 2012, he was picked up by Tech 1 for FR2.0 but enjoyed limited success, with one podium in seven races in the ALPS series and only one point throughout the entire season of Eurocup.
Vaxiviere will join Pierre Gasly among those confirmed to be racing for Tech 1 in FR2.0 in 2013. Russian drivers Egor Orudzhev and Ivan Taranov, Canadian kart racer Luke Chudleigh and Swiss Formula BMW Talent Cup graduate Hugo de Sadeleer are also expected to take up seats with the team. New Eurocup rules mean each team can only enter three cars, but such limits do not apply in ALPS.
