Trident has named its line-up for the 2023 Macau Grand Prix, with two Formula 2 drivers being joined by a Formula 3 debutant.
The grand prix will award the FIA F3 World Cup this year, but the race has been contested by Formula 4 cars since 2020. The last time it ran for the F3 cars it was won by Richard Verschoor, and he has chosen Trident to make his event return with.
His team-mates will be fellow F2 racer Roman Stanek and recently crowned Euro 4 champion Ugo Ugochukwu.
Verschoor has won three F2 races over the last three seasons, while Stanek so far has a best finish of fifth from his rookie season and was a FIA F3 race-winner last year.
McLaren junior Ugochukwu is in his second year of single-seater racing, having come third in British Formula 4 in 2022 and then coming third in F4 United Arab Emirates, second in Italian F4 and first in the new European series Euro 4 in 2023.
Trident’s team manager Giacomo Ricci commented: “The Macau Grand Prix is a legendary race, full of charm and history. It embodies the essence of racing. It runs on a challenging and unforgiving street track that always highlights the most talented drivers. We will compete in this classic race with a line-up that is new, but also interesting and competitive.
“It brings together experience, freshness, and talent. Verschoor, Stanek, and Ugochukwu are a really well-sorted and high-quality trio. We will do our best to maximise the work with our drivers. Our goal is to allow them to make the most of their chances in a race that has always been followed with great attention at all levels.”
