SMP Racing protege Alexander Smolyar was fastest again on the second and final day of the Formula Renault Eurocup pre-season test at Paul Ricard, just 0.018 seconds ahead of Victor Martins.

Having gone fastest right at the end of the opening day, R-ace GP driver Smolyar set the best time of the test – a 1m59.415s – inside the first of the four sessions that made up on day two.

Renault academy driver Martins was only 0.077s adrift in that session, and continued to lower his benchmark during the day, setting a 1m59.433s to top the final hour.

Martins’ MP Motorsport team-mate Lorenzo Colombo had a stronger second day, placing third in the morning and second in the afternoon, just ahead of Oscar Piastri on both occasions.

Ugo de Wilde was fifth for JD Motorsport, with Arden’s Sebastian Fernandez the last driver to get below the 2m00s mark in sixth.

Leonardo Lorandi claimed seventh ahead of Petr Ptacek, Caio Collet and Kush Maini.
