Reza Seewooruthun secured a first GB3 victory for himself and the Argenti with Prema team by dominating the final race of the weekend at the Hungaroring.

Having lined up from third in the reversed-grid contest, Seewooruthun prevailed in a three-way battle with front-row starters Kai Daryanani and Flynn Jackes to snatch the lead into turn two.

Seewooruthun was almost three seconds ahead of JHR Developments’ Daryanani on completion of lap one, and he continued to romp clear over the remaining 14 laps. His winning margin at the chequered flag was a mighty 16.585 seconds – the second largest in the series’ history.

Daryanani also scored his best result by maintaining second until the finish, while Velocity Racing Development’s Hugo Schwarze edged out Jackes to the final podium spot after passing the Elite Motorsport driver early on.

Hitech GP’s Deagen Fairclough avoided damage in a lap one clash with Jackes’s team-mate Will Macintyre, and passed fellow title contender and Xcel Motorsport driver Patrick Heuzenroeder on his way to fifth. Heuzenroeder took sixth, while Macintyre spun in the collision with Fairclough and came home a distant 15th.

Championship leader Alex Ninovic moved up two places from 12th at the start and gained two further spots by overtaking his Rodin Motorsport team-mates Gianmarco Pradel and Abbi Pulling. Ninovic challenged Hitech’s Keanu Al Azhari for seventh, but the latter held on by 0.4s at the flag.

Pulling held off Pradel and JHR’s Noah Lisle to finish ninth. Lisle earlier lost his race two podium for forcing Pradel off the track, with officials handing out a one-place penalty which demoted him to fourth behind his rival.
