Exclusive Autosport’s Jack Jeffers leads the USF2000 championship on victory countback after winning the final race at Mid-Ohio.

He is now level on points with Velocity Racing Development’s Thomas Schrage, who started the race on pole. Jeffers and Pabst Racing’s Caleb Gafrarar were next up on the grid, with the latter making a pass at turn two before dropping behind Jeffers, Teddy Musella (VRD) and Lucas Fecury (Exclusive) on lap one.

Musella was next to attack Jeffers, running on the grass on the inside of him down to turn four on lap two. Jeffers retained his position, and got a warning for blocking. Later in the lap, Gafrarar got past Fecury.

At the same place on lap three, Jeffers was sat in Schrage’s tow then tucked out at the last moment and expertly executed a move for the lead into turn four. The race was his from that point, and he was six seconds clear when a caution period was called on lap 11.

Schrage echoed Jeffers’ defending with his positioning against Musella on laps five and seven, and also earned himself a warning, while Fecury and Gafrarar squabbled continually and traded places again on lap nine.

Fecury went around the outside at turn four, but Gafrarar got back past at turn six and then the compromised Fecury had contact with DEForce Racing’s Jeshua Alianell behind.

Their fights were interrupted by the caution period, caused by a crash between Jay Howard Driver Development’s Anthony Martella and VRD’s Ryan Giannetta after turn nine.

Racing resumed on lap 14, and Fecury went to the inside of Gafrarar at turn four for 14th. The top three remained close together thereon, and Schrage attempted a switchback move on the penultimate lap after filling Jeffers’ mirrors for many laps. They finished 0.3827 seconds apart, with Musella also within a second of victory.
