Rowland keeps win, Gasly to lose five places at Red Bull Ring

An investigation into Oliver Rowland‘s collision with Pierre Gasly has yielded no further action from the steward, while Gasly’s unsafe return to the track will result in a five-grid drop for the next race.

The two championship leaders came together on lap one of the second Eurocup race at Moscow Raceway with Gasly spinning off and Rowland resuming with no damage.

The Tech 1 driver then tried to return to the track but a rash attempt to do so resulted with him being collected by Denis Korneev, who found himself unable to avoid the sideways Gasly.

The stewards have reviewed the incident and awarded Gasly a five-place grid drop for the next race of the series at Red Bull Ring. The Frenchman was cited as having “driven in a manner incompatible with general safety”.
