Jimmy Piszcyk won the reversed-grid race at Oulton Park while a problem hit championship leader Martin Molnar.
Rodin driver Piszcyk jumped into the race lead after a strange start in which Rowan Campbell-Pilling jumped the start by a considerable margin. The JHR Developments driver led through the first turns only to then run deep and take to the alternative track layout, leaving the rest of the field to battle for position.
Piszcyk, who started second, had jumped past polesitter Henry Mercier off the line and now held the lead. He pulled a lead of just over two seconds to August Raber and was unchallenged throughout the remainder of the race
After dropping behind Raber early in the race, Mercier held off Ethan Jeff-Hall to take his first podium finish and the rookie victory. Jeff-Hall made it an Argenti Motorsport 2-3-4, ahead of Hitech GP’s Thomas Bearman.
Further back there were problems for the championship leader Molnar. After starting from the middle of the pack, he struggled to make up positions and suddenly slowed later in the race with an apparent mechanical problem. He was able to get going again, albeit at the back of the pack.
There were also problems for Chase Fernandez and Xavier Avramides. Fernandez lost his front wing heading through the first corner and was forced to pit for repairs. Later in the race, Avramides had a coming together with Ella Lloyd. Lloyd damaged her front wing but was able to continue but Avramides suffered a puncture and dropped to the back of the field.
Fionn McLaughlin put the pressure on Henry Joslyn late in the race, but ran out of time before he could make a move on the Fortec driver. He had to settle for seventh, enough to move ahead of Molnar by two points at the top of the championship. Ary Bansal, Theo Palmer and Adam Al Azhari completed the top 10.
