AKM Motorsport has announced a four-car line-up for the opening round of the Italian Formula 4 round of the season at Imola later this month.

The most notable member of its quartet is new Red Bull junior Enzo Deligny, who will be making his single-seater racing debut.

Deligny turns 15 next week, making him old enough to race in the series, and made his F4 test debut last November with Campos Racing. He will race for that team in the Spanish F4 championship this year.

The Frenchman spent 2022 racing on OK karts, coming second in the WSK Euro Series, fourth in the CIK-FIA European championship, sixth in WSK’s Super Master Series, 13th in the Champions of the Future series and 17th in the CIK-FIA World championship as a rookie.

His team-mates for the Italian F4 opener will be Tina Hausmann, Davide Larini and Griffin Peebles.

Hausmann started testing in F4 last year with Van Amersfoort Racing, having raced in the German karting championship with CRG after previous success on Rotax Max karts in Switzerland.

At the start of 2023 she joined AKM in the new F4-spec Formula Winter Series to make her car racing debut, and came away with a podium finish from her four starts in the F4-based series.

Larini is the son of former Formula 1 driver Nicola, and is graduating from the Italian karting championship in which he was ROK Senior runner-up last year and in 2021 was 15th in the X30 Junior standings and topped the ROK Junior points table but was not given the title due to only contesting one of the three rounds.

Chinese-bron Australian racer Peebles is another single-seater debutant, and has so far picked up test mileage with VAR and AKM before he signed with the new-look Tecnicar Motorsport team to race in Spanish F4 for 2023.

He stepped up from mini to junior karting in the second half of 2021, then last year came 30th in the WSK Champions Cup, 23rd in the WSK Super Master Series and seventh in the WSK Open Cup for OK-Junior karts.

“We’ll have a very interesting line-up at Imola, made up only of rookies,” said AKM team principal Marco Antonelli.

“I’m really happy with these guys and I’m absolutely sure they’ll be able to have their say, giving it their all in any case to have a satisfying weekend.”
