Belardi Auto Racing has made its first 2020 Indy Lights signing with Indy Pro 2000 runner-up Rasmus Lindh.

The Swede won three races during his sole IP2000 last year, having also been runner-up in his sole USF2000 season as a single-seater rookie in 2018. In both years he was second to the dominant Kyle Kirkwood, who steps up to Indy Lights with Andretti Autosport.

Lindh has tested with several different Indy Lights teams during the off-season, and topped the Sebring post-season test last December with HMD Motorsports. He has since tested with Belardi, and chose to join the team.

?I?m looking forward to this season, and I am so happy to be joining Belardi Auto Racing,” said Lindh.

“I think it will be an awesome year for the team and myself, and I can?t wait to get it going. I want to thank everyone involved that made this all possible.”

In the upcoming Sprint Training test at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Lindh will be joined by former HMD/Team Pelfrey driver Toby Sowery.

Belardi team boss Brian Belardi said: ?I have watched Rasmus work his way up through the Road to Indy, and always kept an eye on his progression, and been impressed with what he has been able to accomplish.

“I believe Rasmus will be a tremendous asset to our team, and I can?t wait to see what 2020 holds for the team.”

The Indy Lights grid comprises of eight cars at present, with at least one more signing expected at HMD.
