Thomas Randle topped the Australian F4 qualifying at the second round in the series’ history at Queensland.
Randle took over the leading role in the session from championship leader and two-time Townsville race winner Jordan Lloyd, who was the early pace-setter.
While the times dropped significantly during the session, Randle escaped with a tiny lead of 0.06s to grab pole position.
Harry Hayek was the best of the rest, four tenths behind, followed by Will Brown and Luis Leeds.
Jimmy Vernon ended up sixth, ahead of Nick Rowe and Jordan Love, the duo separated by five thousandths of a second.
The top ten was copmleted by Tom Grech and Drew Ridge.
