Prema’s trio of FIA Formula 3 championship contenders are among a host of drivers to be given grid penalties after the chaotic qualifying session at Monza.
The session was brought to an early end for safety reasons as a result of extreme traffic that forced cars to back out of flying laps.
Prema’s Marcus Armstrong, Robert Shwartzman and Jehan Daruvala have all been given two five-place grid penalties for driving excessively slowly. With penalties applied to others, they will start race one seventh, eighth and 10th respectively.
Teppei Natori, Jake Hughes and Bent Viscaal were also given two of the five-place penalties, and will start 12th, 18th and 28th respectively.
The fourth of the main title contenders Juri Vips is among the drivers to get one five-place penalty, meaning he starts 17th having qualified 14th.
Niko Kari, Liam Lawson, Logan Sargeant, Leonardo Pulcini, Felipe Drugovich and Yifei Ye were also given five-place grid drops.
Pole-sitter Christian Lundgaard was given a three-place grid penalty, along with ART team-mates Max Fewtrell and David Beckmann, yet will remain at the front of the grid.
Lirim Zendeli, who was fifth fastest, will join him on the front row ahead of Richard Verschoor, Giorgio Carrara.
Fewtrell starts fifth with Yuki Tsunoda sixth.
