Patrik Pasma will replace Piotr Wisnicki in KIC Motorsport’s Formula Regional European Championship line-up for this weekend’s Imola round.
The Finn raced for the team through the 2020 season and the first half of 2021, before moving to ART Grand Prix. In his rookie season he picked up four wins and three poles en route to fourth in the points.
He also has FRegional experience from one-and-a-half seasons in the Asian championship with Evans GP, with whom he won three races, and did FIA Formula 3 Championship pre-season testing this year but did not land a seat in the series.
“Patrik Pasma is back! KIC Motorsport line-up for next Italian Imola racing weekend of FREC is Italian Francesco Braschi, Mexican Santiago Ramos and flying Finn Patrik Pasma, who replaces our season 2022 driver Polish Piotr Wisnicki this weekend,” KIC announced.
Wisnicki, who finished 24th and 21st in his first two races with KIC in the opening FREC round at Monza last month, is anticipated to be returning to the team for round three in Monaco on May 28/29. He is remaining in Poland this weekend due to school commitments.
The 18-year-old spent the past two years racing in Italian Formula 4 with Jenzer Motorsport, with a best finish of sixth, six points-scoring appearances and 19th in the standings in his incomplete rookie season.
He secured the third seat at KIC in FREC after fellow F4 driver Kirill Smal’s planned move to the team fell through following the sanctions that were put in place on his home country Russia after its invasion of Ukraine in February.
