Wiktoria and Julia Pankiewicz have become the first female drivers to sign up for the FIA Italian F4 series.
The Polish twins, aged 15, will join RB Racing for their first foray into car racing.
Wiktoria placed 16th in the CIK-FIA Academy Trophy in 2013 before moving on to the KF class of racing for 2014 as she raced in the WSK Super Master Series and the CIK-FIA European Championship.
Julia took part in the same events, albeit in the KF Junior class, and took a best finish of seventh in CIK-FIA Europe at Kristanstad.
The Pankiewicz sisters joining Italian F4 coincides with the introduction of a Women Trophy in the series for 2015.
“We are excited to welcome Julia and Wiki to the team,” said RB Racing manager Marco Angeletti.”They both have excellent experience in international karting and the potential to be very competitive in motorsport.”
“Both of them have displayed a professional approach to the sport and have good basic technical skills, factors that combined with their both speed and passion will allow us to do a great job.”
