Frenchmen Esteban Ocon and William Vermont shared the spoils over the two testing sessions for the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup at Aragon today.
Session one began with MP Motorsport driver Oliver Rowland leading the way early before Guilherme Silva went to the top of the leaderboards and remained there for most of the first hour. Just after the second hour mark it was Fortec Motorsports drivers Ed Jones and Jake Dennis who traded fastest laps before Nyck de Vries jumped to the top of the time sheets. Ocon made his move with an hour and ten minutes to go and increased his gap to finish 0.598 seconds quicker than de Vries. During the session there were two red flags caused by Simon Tirman and Marcos Siebert respectively.
It was again Rowland who set the early pace in session two before MP Motorsport teammate Felipe Fraga jumped to the top of the time sheets. Shortly afterwards Vermont jumped to the top of the time sheets only to be immediately jumped by Ocon, who would remain there until, with less than ten minutes remaining, Vermont jumped back to the top of the time sheets and that is how it would finish.
Testing continues tomorrow at Aragon with a further two sessions for the drivers of the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup.
