Clement Novalak and Johnathan Hoggard took the pole positions for the second round of the BRDC British Formula 3 season at Snetterton this weekend.

Championship leader Novalak’s 1m43.533s lap was a fraction faster than the lap time that Fortec Motorsports’ Hoggard set, with the majority of the fastest times being set in the middle of the 20-minute session.

Hoggard however was able to claim pole position for the third race of the weekend with his second best lap time in qualifying, with Double R Racing’s Hampus Ericsson joining him on the front row.

Novalak’s second best time puts him fifth for race three, behind the second Double R car of Neil Verhagen and Douglas Motorsport’s Kiern Jewiss.

Jewiss was third fastest ahead of Ericsson and Verhagen, who will start race one fourth and fifth for race one.

Ayrton Simmons and Kaylen Frederick, who both claimed poles at the Oulton Park season opener, were only able to qualify sixth and seventh respectively for the first race at Snetterton.

Fortec’s Manuel Maldonado will start race one from eighth position, while Novalak’s Carlin team-mate Lucas Petersson and the sole Hillspeed car of Sasakorn Chaimongkol (Hillspeed) will make up the fifth row of the grid.
