Noah Stromsted will make his long-awaited debut in the Spanish Formula 4 championship with Campos Racing at Navarra this weekend.

The Dane has been to set to race in the series for over a year, but his first race appearance has had to wait until he turned 15 this summer. He tested briefly with Teo Martin Motorsport in 2021, before joining Campos for a long-term test programme.

Last year he raced in Danish F4, joining the grid once reaching his 14th birthday and proceeding to win nine of the 12 races he contested to finish runner-up in the standings. Since then he has tested extensively with Campos, and also with R-ace GP in tests for Italian F4 teams.

“I am very excited to finally be racing,” Stromsted said of joining Spanish F4. He will also contest the final round at Barcelona.

“I have worked very hard over the past months for this moment so I am very motivated to race at Navarra and Barcelona with Campos Racing. Racing against the drivers who have done the whole championship is a challenge that I really like, which will help me a lot to continue developing myself in this sport.”

There will be backing from Escuderia Telmex, which previously funded Sergio Perez’s rise up the single-seater ladder to Formula 1, for Stromsted’s debut. The programme had supported Jesse Carrasquedo Jr’s 2022 Spanish F4 campaign with Campos before he had to back out of racing for several months.

Campos’s team principal Adrian Campos Jr said: “I would like to extend a warm welcome to Noah at Campos Racing. He has carried out excellent testing with us and definitely is ready for his debut in the series.

“Noah is a very talented racing driver and, despite his youth, very disciplined. His performance was amazing during testing days, so we expect him to be fighting for top places alongside his teammates. This said, we all know how closely-fought the Spanish F4 championship is, but we don’t rule out his chances to fight for a podium finish.”

Another Danish F4 talent will be joining the Spanish F4 grid this weekend, as 2022 championship leader Julius Dinesen has signed with the Formula de Campeones team.
