Joshua Duerksen set the pace in both the morning and afternoon on the first day of ADAC Formula 4’s in-season Hockenheim test.
The Mucke Motorsport driver traded top spot with US Racing’s Tim Tramnitz in the morning right until the chequered flag, with a stronger final sector doing the job for Duerksen.
He then set the best middle sector of the morning on his in-lap, while Tramnitz couldn’t respond.
German rookie Tramnitz then failed to improve in the afternoon’s sessions, where Van Amersfoort Racing’s drivers got up to pace after a morning light on quick laptimes and mileage.
Duerksen was on top again, but this time with VAR’s Jonny Edgar 0.037 seconds behind. Prema’s Gabriele Mini and US Racing’s Valdislav Lomko were also within a tenth of a second of Duerksen’s 1m41.087s lap, while Tramnitz’s morning time was good enough to put him fifth overall in the combined classification.
After missing the morning, R-ace GP’s Kirill Smal was able to get on track in the afternoon but ended up two seconds off the pace.
