Motopark and Nielsen Racing have added to their Euroformula line-ups, bringing the number of drivers confirmed to be racing in the Formula 3-level series up to seven.
German outfit Motopark made several signings in winter, but delayed announcing its drivers. The first reveal came less than a month ago, and since then the team has confirmed Yevan David, Jose Garfias and Everett Stack will drive full-time for them.
David, 17, is from Sri Lanka and was fastest in pre-season testing at Barcelona where teams got to try out the TOM’S-powered Dallara 324 chassis that is now the spec car for the series.
He made his Euroformula debut in the 2024 season finale at Monza as a guest driver, and the single-seater rookie won two of the races there and finishing third in the other. David had begun his car racing career that year in Formula 4 United Arab Emirates, and came a points-free 26th in the standings. He then raced in Spanish F4, where he was 19th in the points table.
There was also a points-scoring cameo in the Formula Regional-based Eurocup-3 series, and he was 11th in the Motorsport Games’ F4 event.
Garfias is more established, but the 20-year-old Mexican has already been outshone by David. He came seventh in Euroformula last year as a part-timer, doing the last three rounds and after picking up pole on debut claiming four podiums.
There were two other part-time campaigns, in Eurocup-3 and FRegional Middle East, and he came 10th and 27th respectively in them.
In 2023, Garfias had made the podium four times en route to fourth in the Eurocup-3 points, and he has past experience of GB3 and FRegional Europe.
Stack has followed a similar path, with the American having mostly raced in Europe and the Middle East. He was 13th in FRegional Americas in 2023, but could do no better than 34th in the standings when he raced in F4 United Arab Emirates at the start of last year. He was then 27th in Italian F4, 30th in E4 (nee Euro 4) and made a Eurocup-3 cameo.
His 2025 began in FRME, but that resulted in a points-free run to 27th in the standings.
Established sportscar outfit Nielsen has chosen a three-car attack on Euroformula for its first venture into Euroformula, and now has two drivers confirmed following the signing of Shawn Rashid.
The 29-year-old American was racing in Formula Ford 1600 back in 2022, coming fifth in the BRSCC National FF1600 championship, winning his FFord Festival heat and making the semi-finals at the Walter Hayes Trophy.
He switched to slicks-and-wings via GB3, and in his sophomore campaign last year picked up one podium and finishing 17th in the standings. To get a taste of third-tier single-seaters he contested two USF Pro 2000 rounds, with little in terms of results, and started 2025 with his most impressive car racing campaign yet in FRegional Oceania. He made the podium once and came ninth in the standings.
