Max Esterson will remain at Jenzer Motorsport for his full-time move into Formula 3 this year, having cameoed for the team in 2023.

The 2021 Walter Hayes Trophy winner and Formula Ford Festival runner-up has primarily spent the last two years racing in GB3. He took one win, two other podiums and a pole in his rookie season to come seventh in the standings, then a single podium finish last year contributed to him finishing 11th in the points table.

During the year he also did two FIA F3 Championship rounds with Rodin Carlin, taking a best finish of 18th, then joined Jenzer for the FIA F3 World Cup-awarding Macau Grand Prix which he finished 20th in. He now steps up to F3 full-time.

“I’m excited to be joining Jenzer Motorsport and to be racing in FIA F3 [in 2024],” said the 21-year-old American.

“Jenzer has a great history of success and has proven they can run at the front in F3, which has to be considered one of the most competitive series in the world. It’s a big step up for me with more power, more downforce, and a heavier car, but I feel
like I’ve gelled well with Jenzer’s family environment in the post-season tests last year and at the Macau GP in November.

“I’m grateful to Andreas [Jenzer, team principal] and everyone at the team for the opportunity and to all my supporters like iRacing who have stepped up and helped me make this move. We’re working hard to be well prepared for [testing in] Bahrain in February.”

Esterson will be team-mate to Formula Regional graduate Matias Zagazeta, who made his F3 debut with Jenzer in the Macau GP, and one other yet-to-be announced driver.
