Lindsay Brewer will step up to Indy Nxt in 2024 with Juncos Hollinger Racing, becoming the first American female to race in the series since 2007.
For the past two years Brewer has been racing in USF Pro 2000 with Exclusive Autosport. She finished eighth on her debut in 2022 but only got one other top-10 finish from her part-time campaign (due to being a late signing) and came 15th in the standings.
This season she contested every race but never finished higher than 11th, a result she achieved twice, and ended up 18th in the points table. Post-season she joined Juncos for Indy Nxt testing.
“Driving at the top level of open-wheel racing in the USA has been a dream of mine ever since I was a young girl,” said Brewer. “To be able to take this step up and drive Indy Nxt is not only exciting for me, but it also is a dream come true.
“I’m incredibly thankful to Juncos Hollinger Racing and team principal Ricardo Juncos for allowing me to show what I can do, and for everyone that has supported me on this journey including my previous teams.”
Brewer karted as a youngster before moving into car racing in 2015 in the United States’ Legends championship, but she then left motorsport to go to university. She returned to action in sportscars, and after that joined Skip Barber Racing School. In 2021 she came sixth in the school’s own single-seater series, and raced in TC America in a Honda Civic.
“To be representing America and women in a full season at this level of motorsport is something I can be proud of, and it is motivation for me to work as hard as I possibly can on and off the track,” she added. “I’m looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish.”
Ricardo Juncos said “it’s a proud moment to welcome another female driver to Juncos Hollinger Racing after competing with Julia Ballario and Tatiana Calderon in USFP2000 previously” and that “we’re looking forward to working with Lindsay to build on her Road to Indy experience and to bring her up to competitive speed in Indy Nxt as quickly as possible”.
