Car racing rookie Maxim Rehm joins US Racing for triple F4 programme

by Ida Wood

German karter Maxim Rehm will make the move into single-seaters next year, and do so in a multi-series Formula 4 programme with US Racing.

The 16-year-old will start 2024 in the Spain-based Formula Winter Series, then after that tackle ACI Sport’s Italian F4 and Euro 4 championships.

Rehm came second in his national championship, sixth in the WSK Euro Series and 12th in the WSK Final Cup in junior karting, and after stepping up to OK karts last year he won the German title and came seventh in the Italian championship.

He spent 2023 in shifter karting, finishing 13th in the Andrea Margutti Trophy, coming 17th in WSK’s Super Master Series and then 25th in the FIA’s World Cup for KZ2 karts.

“After my karting years, I am very excited to go one step higher and start in formula racing,” said Rehm. “I’m very happy now to be part of the US Racing team and feel very welcomed by them. We have been testing already during the winter break and I have been learning already a lot and could get to know the team better.

“It is a lot of fun working with the team, I can learn a lot by a professional and successful team like US Racing. The Italian F4 championship is a very strong and competitive racing series, completed with the tracks of Euro 4 championship, the race programme will be great to improve myself as a race driver. I will give everything to be strong and have a successful rookie season.”
