Lancaster quickest on final morning of GP2 testing

Jon Lancaster set the pace in the morning session on the final day of GP2 pre-season testing in Bahrain.

After his MP Motorsport team-mate Daniel De Jong was fastest on Thursday afternoon, Lancaster set a time of 1m39.647s during the first hour of the session to end up quickest. The Briton has yet to secure the seat for the season.

Alexander Rossi continued Caterham’s strong showing in second, 0.046s slower than Lancaster.

Felipe Nasr was third for Carlin ahead of ART rookie Stoffel Vandoorne. Daniel Abt took fifth for Hilmer ahead of Jolyon Palmer of DAMS.

Julian Leal was seventh in the second Carlin machine ahead of Racing Engineering’s Raffaele Marciello. Russian Time’s Mitch Evans and Caterham’s Rio Haryanto completed the top ten.
