Juncos Racing’s Sting Ray Robb took pole for the second Indy Pro 2000 race of the weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park.

Robb held back until late in qualifying to usurp DEForce Racing’s Manuel Sulaiman – who topped the timesheets for much of the 20-minute session.

Sulaiman was fastest on the first set of tyres, before dropping back slightly on the second set as Robb came into his own to take pole with two laps quick enough for the top spot.

DEForce’s Parker Thompson was closest in second place but was 0.3135 seconds off the top.

Robb’s Juncos team-mate Artem Petrov jumped to third with a very late lap, narrowly ahead of Sulaiman.

Andretti Steinbrenner Racing’s race one winner Devlin DeFrancesco rounded out the top five, ahead of Pabst Racing duo Hunter McElrea and Colin Kaminsky.

Turn 3 Motorsport’s Danial Frost didn’t get out of the pits in the early stages, and could only manage eighth quickest.

DEForce’s Kory Enders, Abel Motorsport’s Jacob Abel and Turn 3’s Antoine Comeau rounded out the 11 runners, as FatBoy Racing’s Charles Finelli didn’t get onto the track and DEForce’s Moises de la Vara was absent due to a back injury sustained in training.
