Johnathan Hoggard, an eight-time race-winner in British Formula 4, will remain with Fortec Motorsports as he makes the move to BRDC British Formula 3 this year.
Hoggard prioritised education over racing in 2017, but his part-season in British F4 with Fortec still resulted in one podium.
Last year it was inconsistency that held his racing ambitions back, only finishing third in the standings with the team despite his huge win tally.
?I am incredibly excited and thrilled we have finalised everything allowing me to compete in the 2019 British F3 season with Fortec Motorsports, continuing our successful partnership from 2018,” Hoggard said.
?I declined multiple strong offers to race in European championships but British F3 was always my preferred option given its history, stability and the thrill when driving the car – which suits my driving style.
?The 2019 objectives are to carry the strong form from the end of last season into the start of the new season, focus on podium finishes and look to mount a strong championship challenge.
Fortec Motorsports’ British F3 team manager Russell Dixon added: ?We?re really pleased that Jonathan will be spending a third season with Fortec, and moving up to BRDC British F3.
“He developed rapidly with us last year and was the standout driver by the end of the season, and if he continues that development in British F3, he will be a regular race winner and most likely a strong championship contender.?
