Seb Priaulx took a controlled second British Formula 4 win at Brands Hatch as Kiern Jewiss secured the 2018 title.
Poleman Priaulx and fellow front row man Johnathan Hoggard led a lonely race up front, with Priaulx ensuring all four Arden drivers have won at least two races this year.
Fortec Motorsports driver Hoggard, chasing his eighth win of the season, finished two seconds behind.
Double R Racing’s Paavo Tonteri made his first podium appearance since Snetterton in third, just ahead of Arden driver Patrik Pasma.
It was the battle for fifth that was the most important though. Jewiss started in the position, but lost out to title rival Ayrton Simmons at the start. The JHR Developments driver stayed in fifth thereon, enough to stay in the title battle if Jewiss retired, but Jewiss did no such thing and followed him to the flag, finishing sixth and winning the title for Double R.
Manuel Sulaiman started the race behind them in seventh, but contact with Arden’s Dennis Hauger led to a puncture and falling several laps down, meaning the position went to Hauger. Jack Doohan, Hauger’s team-mate and fellow Red Bull junior, attacked his team-mate over the opening laps but dropped back significantly as the race went on.
The most excitement in the race came in the fight for ninth, with Sebastian Alvarez holding on for most of the race until a robust move by Lucca Allen two laps from the end.
Josh Skelton finished 11th, ahead of the lapped Sharp and Sulaiman, who ended his race in the pits.
