Championship leader Nico Jamin continued his domination on USF2000 qualifyings this season, taking pole position for the first race of Mid-Ohio’s triple-header.
The Frenchman sophomore driver converted his great pace from the testing sessions, of which he led?three, to end up with a commanding lead of six tenths.
His main rivals Jake Eidson and Aaron Telitz were second and third fastest with?the latter’s best time being disallowed.
Australian Anthony Martin ended up as the top rookie in fourth, followed by Team Pelfrey’s Garth Rickards and JDC MotorSports driver Parker Thompson.
Norwegian Ayla Agren ended up seventh, more than 1.3s off the pace, just ahead of Mazda-supported Luke Gabin.
Jack Mitchell, who is debuting in the series with returning team Afterburner, was ninth and the top ten was completed by Yufeng Luo.
MSA Formula race-winner Sennan Fielding qualified 11th on his debut in Mazda Road To Indy.
