British Formula 4 race-winner James Higgins will remain in the championhip for 2024, and he will switch teams to Rodin Motorsport.

The 17-year-old made his debut with Fortec Motorsports in the penultimate round of the 2022 season, and picked up a best finish of 12th across his six races that year. He remained with the team for 2023, and came sixth in the standings with four poles, two wins and four other podiums.

“I’m hugely excited to join Rodin Motorsport for the 2024 season,” said Higgins.

“Last year I think we showed glimpses of what we can do with a few wins, podiums and pole positions however for one reason or another things just didn’t fall our way when it came to mounting a proper championship challenge.

“I certainly learnt a lot however and it’s that experience that I’ll be drawing on this year. To join one of the best teams on the grid means there are no excuses and we’re leaving no stone unturned; the goal is clear and that’s to win the championship.”

Pior to F4, Higgins had built up car racing experience in Ginetta Junior. He did two rounds in 2020, then was 15th in the 2021 standings with one fastest lap and a best finish of fourth.

Rodin’s British F4 team manager Gary Bonnor added: “The team was impressed with him last season, and I am sure he will work well with the team and hit the ground running this coming season. I can’t wait to start working together.”
