John Bennett has confirmed he will race for JHR Developments in GB3 this year.
The 20-year-old will be embarking on his third season in GB3, having raced for Elite Motorsport as a single-seater rookie in 2022 and then for Rodin Carlin in 2023. He joined JHR for post-season testing soon after last year’s racing schedule concluded.
In his maiden GB3 campaign he came eighth in the standings with a third place finish being his best result, and last year dropped two positions in the points table but picked up a second place and took two poles.
His knowledge of the British tracks goes further, as he spent 2020 and ’21 in the Ginetta GT5 Challenge sportscar series. He was seventh in the standings as a rookie, then was championship runner-up in 2021 with five wins and two poles.
“I’m really excited to be joining JHR Developments in the GB3 championship for the 2024 season,” said Bennett.
“They’re a great team full of very talented individuals, as shown by their results across the board in 2023, and things clicked instantly when I undertook my first test with them. I would like to say a big thanks to [team principal] Steven Hunter for this opportunity. I can’t wait to get the year underway and see what we can achieve together during the year.”
Bennett began this year by racing for Evans GP in Formula Regional Middle East, where he came 23rd in the standings with two points. In GB3 he will be team-mate to Patrick Heuzenroeder and Josh Irfan.
