Formula Renault 3.5 racer Jazeman Jaafar will take part in the British F3 round at Brands Hatch, completing the five-car lineup announced by British team Carlin.

The Malaysian, who sits 14th in the standings of Formula Renault 3.5 in his rookie year, rejoins the British F3 series roster to ensure his eligibility for the Macau Grand Prix event at the end of the year.

“I’m really looking forward to being back in the F3 car”, said Jaafar. “I spent three years in the formula and it was a great training ground for me, improving my race craft, driving skills, car set up and so much more. Going back will be a bit strange, but I’m so familiar with the car hopefully it will be an easy transition from the Renault 3.5 vehicle.”

“It’ll be great to see Jazeman back in one of our F3 cars”, added team boss Trevor Carlin. We’ve been working with Jazeman for over four years now as he has grown and developed as a driver. ?Hopefully he will return with us to Macau later this year. I’m sure his maturity ? despite still being only 20 ? will stand him in good stead for Macau, which is one of the biggest challenges for any young driver. We’ve seen Jazeman enjoy strong results on street circuits such as Monaco and Pau and know he would be a massive credit to the team.”

Jaafar has three years of British Formula Three racing behind his back, with his best result coming in 2012 when he secured three wins and finished runner-up in the standings.
