Formula Regional and esports ace Igor Fraga will contest the upcoming Toyota Racing Series with M2 Competition.

Fraga, a winner of the FIA Gran Turismo Sport Nations Cup and McLaren Shadow Project, came third in the 2019 Formula Regional European Championship with DR Formula and RP Motorsport.

He beat David Schumacher to be the best non-Prema driver in the standings after four race victories, two of them in the final round at Monza.

It was his first campaign in Europe, after he won the Brazilian Formula 3 Light title in 2017, and came second in NACAM Formula 4 and fourth in USF2000 the following year.

?It will be my very first time to race in New Zealand and I?m very excited for all upcoming experiences,” he said.

“I will be enjoying each second, each lap there and pushing everything I can until the end. The goal of course is to win!”

Fraga is the third driver to be confirmed with M2 for the upcoming TRS, after Ido Cohen and Rui Andrade.

He took part in the FIA F3 test in Valencia in October with both Carlin and Charouz, and recently had a run-out with M2’s Formula Renault Eurocup squad at Paul Ricard.
