James Hedley has switched teams from Elite Motorsport to JHR Developments for this weekend’s GB3 round at Spa-Francorchamps.

JHR has operated as a one-car team in the series through the first half of the season, but will expand to two cars with the addition of Hedley alongside reigning British Formula 4 champion Matthew Rees.

Hedley is currently 11th in the GB3 standings, having taken his first podium of the year in the most recent race at Snetterton, and he also contested last year’s final round with Elite.

Before that he spent two seasons in British F4, winning four times in his rookie campaign with JHR and then adding another four wins in a second year that was split between Fortec Motorsports and Carlin.

“I will be doing the next round at Spa with JHR Developments,” said Hedley. “I had some great memories with them in the past. Looking to create some more this weekend.”

JHR’s team principal Steve Hunter said: “It’s great to reunite with James for Spa. We obviously know him very well from our successful season together a couple of years ago, and we know exactly what he is capable of. We’re looking forward to seeing how things pan out this weekend.”

There has been no explanation given for Hedley’s exit from Elite, nor if he will stay with JHR for the remaining three rounds of the season after Spa. Elite is provisionally set to race this weekend with John Bennett and Tom Lebbon as its two drivers.
