Gustavo Lima joins BRDC F4 with HHC

Brazilian 16-year-old junior Gustavo Lima will be competing in the newly-established BRDC F4, joining the North Yorkshire-based HHC squad.

After a rather successful career in karting, Lima made the transition to single-seaters in 2012, joining Koiranen in Formula Renault 2.0 Alps, where the Brazilian did not score any points. However, his record in Formula Renault did not remain pointless, as he scored during a single-event outing in the NEC series with Mark Burdett Motorsport. He also took part in the 2013 F3 Brazil Open, finishing third with a class B car.

“I?m very excited to be joining the BRDC Formula 4 Championship,” said Lima. “I like the car very much, it?s very different to the cars I have driven before, and I?m looking forward to doing some more testing and the first race at Silverstone this weekend. There are a lot of fast drivers in the championship and I hope to be racing with them at the front.”

“We?re delighted to welcome Gustavo to our BRDC F4 team, completing our line alongside Charlie Robertson and Raoul Hyman,” said the team’s commercial director Charlie Kemp. “We?ve had a really good testing programme, and have completed a lot of laps over the past few weeks. With our line-up we are confident we will be right in the hunt at Silverstone and are now eagerly awaiting the first round of the championship.”
