GP3 announce drivers for final day of Yas Marina test

The GP3 series officials have unveiled a provisional entry list of 26 drivers who will round out the three-day Yas Marina post-season test on Thursday.

Teams’ champions ART Grand Prix will field Alex Fontana for a third day in a row, while also bringing day two pacesetter Oliver Rowland and Jimmy Eriksson on board. Emil Bernstorff and Jann Mardenborough will, meanwhile, switch from Carlin to MW Arden, with the lineup completed by Patric Niederhauser.

Nicholas Latifi will return to testing with Carlin, joined by Luis Sa Silva and Henry Surtees Challenge winner David Pittard. Dean Stoneman and Carmen Jorda will make up a two-car lineup for Koiranen.

Martin Kirchhofer will take over for Eriksson at Russian Time, switching over to the squad after two days with MW Arden. The GP3 newcomers will also retain Ivan Taranov and Markus Pommer.

Indy Lights race winner Jack Hawksworth will get another day in the Status car, with the teams’ lineup completed by Nick Cassidy and Gustavo Menezes. Juan Branger will return to Trident, testing alongside Robert Cregan and GT racer Saeed Al Mehairi.

After running with them on Tuesday, Melville McKee will be making another appearance with Marussia Manor, while the team’s regular GP3 drivers Ryan Cullen and Dino Zamparelli will test in the other cars. David Fumanelli will complete a three-day programme with Jenzer, who will also field Levin Amweg and local racer Sheikh Hasher Al Maktoum.
